Dear Funeral Professional,
Thank you for allowing us to represent your firm for interment of remains at Arlington National Cemetery. Please review the following information prior to shipping remains to us.
• Our preference of airports for shipping human remains is Washington Dulles (lAD), but we can accommodate shipments to Reagan National Airport. Please note, if your family is flying to Arlington for services, they
should arrive at Reagan National Airport for their convenience.
• When placing the casket in the shipping container, please ensure that:
1. The sealing cap is taped to the outside of the casket or secured in a sealed plastic bag and pinned to the pillow in the casket.
2. A check for $625.00 made out to MILITARY FUNERAL SERVICES should be placed inside the head card along with the BuriallTransit Permit and secured to the outside of the shipping container. WE DO NOT BILL FOR OUR
SERVICES. We also accept Visa, MasterCard and American Express for payment of our service fee. Please call our toll free support line for assistance with this option 888-276-3378.
• If the deceased is a veteran, a burial flag must be enclosed with the remains. The flag may be draped on the casket or enclosed in the foot section of the casket. Arlington National Cemetery does not provide
burial flags.
• Due to service schedule delays (averaging 32 services per day), it is recommended that additional steps be taken in preparing the body for shipment prior to arrival at our facility. Regardless of the casket type, WE
SUGGEST THAT ALL BODIES BE ENCLOSED IN A VINYL BURIAL POUCH (BODY BAG). Arlington National Cemetery will not accept caskets for burial that are leaking or emit strong odors.
If you are shipping cremated remains for interment, please ensure the certificate of cremation is included as well as a check made payable to MILITARY FUNERAL SERVICES in the amount of $65.00. If the deceased was a veteran, a burial flag or completed application for burial flag should be included. Arlington National Cemetery does not provide burial flags.
